ABOUT OUR KARATE CLUB
Hello, we are Leaf Karate Club, Shito-ryu.
We begin with fundamental exercises necessary for karate and other sports, and then proceed to practice the essentials of karate, including kata and kumite.
Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, a child or an adult, whether you simply want to enjoy karate purely for fun or aspire to achieve success in competitions, everyone is welcome!

■ Juniors (6 to 12yrs)

Fridays :4:30PM to 5:30PM
■ Ninjas (4 to 5yrs)

■ Adults and Teens
Mondays : 6:30PM to 7:30PM

Class Structure

Ninjas Class (ages 4–6)
Introductory class where young children learn basic movements and manners while having fun.

Kids / Juniors Class (Elementary & Middle School)
Focus on discipline, fundamental techniques, and physical strength development.

Adults Class (Teens & Adults)
Training designed for both technical improvement and goals such as fitness, self-defense, and lifelong practice.

Dojo Philosophy
At Leaf Karate Club, we aim for a well-balanced growth of Spirit, Technique, and Body through the practice of Karate.

Spirit (心)
In both Karate and daily life, a strong and healthy spirit is essential. We value the development of confidence, discipline, and perseverance in our students. -
Technique (技)
We teach the high-level skills of Shito-ryu Karate in a way that students can naturally acquire them. During belt tests, we maintain high standards for each level, ensuring that every student clearly understands the path of progress. -
Body (体)
As the saying goes, “A sound mind in a sound body.” Physical conditioning is a key part of our training, providing the foundation for learning Karate techniques and fostering overall health.

3rd Dan (Japan Karatedo Federation/Shitokai)
He began Karate at Grade one in Niigata, Japan, with the Japan Karate Association.As a teenager, he explored other sports such as soccer and boxing, before returning to Karate (Shitō-ryū) at Chuo University. In 2007, he moved to Vancouver to train, joining the BC Team and competing at the Nationals. After further competition in Japan, he relocated permanently to Vancouver in 2013. Today, he shares his lifelong passion for Karate as the head instructor of Leaf Karate Club.
